It is a crime to have more than one PAN CARD, so how to rectify this mistake…!

      Mumbai: PAN Card (Permanent Account Number) is an important document. Without which you can neither file income tax returns nor open a bank account. Neither can any big transaction from the account. Any transaction has to be done, PAN card is required everywhere. But very few people will know that due to PAN card, you may also have to pay penalty. But if you have more than one PAN card, then you may get it. If you have made two different PAN cards, then you may be overwhelmed. Under the Income Tax Act, 1961 / Section 27B, if you have more than one PAN card, you may have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000. That is, if you have more than one PAN card in your name, then surrender that PAN CARD without delay, otherwise you may have to pay a fine of up to Rs 10,000.

  How to surrender PAN CARD ...?

       You can surrender your second PAN card while sitting at home. You can surrender PAN card online. For this, you have to login to the official website of NSDL. Here, going to the Application Type, drop-down and select the option of Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data / Reprint of PAN Card.

      After this the surrender forms will open. After filling the complete form, click on Submit and your request will be registered. You will receive a token number and complete details will also be sent to your email.
